The overall goal of WP5 is to foster peer-to-peer learning on Demo-farms, to boost knowledge absorption and to stimulate collective learning by commercial Demo-farmers to improve the impact of their Demo-activities. To achieve this overall goal, WP5 will create and facilitate monitoring and evaluation of both regional learning processes and interregional knowledge exchange within demonstration networks. The activities will inspire and catalyse the acceleration of (mutual) cognitive, social and institutional learning processes, as well as horizontal knowledge flows between peers.
The specific WP 5 objectives are to:
- Capturing and sharing practices and methods to improve collective peer-to-peer learning on demo-farms;
- Organising self-monitoring, evaluation of these practices and methods and collective learning to enhance the learning process of farmers within the NEFERTITI demonstration networks;
- Developing recommendations on how to utilise these approaches for Demo-farms in various countries of the EU, supporting the implementation of EIP-AGRI, related to the dynamics of the advisory and education systems in the EU.
The specific WP 5 approach is following:
WP5 enriches and fuels the peer-to-peer learning process on several demo-farm activities organised in WP3. Furthermore, WP5 inspires and facilitates the collective learning process at transnational events and cross visits organised in WP2. This is done by development of assessment and evaluation tools (building on the outcomes of PLAID and Agridemo-F2F), observing and assessing demo-activities, organising exchange between the networks with focus on how to demonstrate, and providing best practices, tools and tailored guides for demo-farms. Operational demo-activities (WP3) are monitored to allow a systematic assessment of the lessons learned. To collect the findings in a systematic way, self and cross monitoring tools will be tested, checked and provided. This will add reflexivity to the learning process within the demo-farm networks which results in a dynamic mode of learning that is crucial in innovation (innovation loop). Next to the peer-to-peer learning process and the lessons on the effectivity of the Demo-farm, the monitoring will also 'harvest' from learners, teachers and observers what has been learned on 'science-practice' interaction and facilitation of operational groups (EIP-AGRI).
