The Project NEFERTITI is related with many other innovative and applied research projects financed under different EU programs and schemes. The two main projects related with project NEFERTITI are:
Peer-to-Peer Learning: Accessing Innovation through Demonstration – PLAID
The PLAID project (Peer-to-peer Learning: Accessing Innovation through Demonstration) is an European Union funded project under Horizon 2020, starting in January 2017 and running until July 2019. The project has been designed to encourage farmers and farm employees to embrace innovations in agriculture, leading to a greater sustainability of European Agriculture, by accessing high quality demonstration activities on commercial farms.
It has long been established that farmers enthusiastically engage with knowledge transfer through demonstration activities, and that innovation and up-take of new farming technologies or practices result from interactive engagement with likeminded individuals or groups. Demonstration activities may also contribute to network building in agriculture communities, leading to longer term sustainability and economic development in rural areas. However little has been documented on agriculture demonstration activities in European countries and the lack of an inventory or on-line resources have been identified.
PLAID collaborates with its sister project AgriDemoF2F, to create on-line resources including an inventory of demonstration activities in the EU 28, Switzerland, Serbia and Norway. The inventory is stored in the FarmDemo hub, which is linked to a georeferenced searchable map. PLAID also identifies and promote the best practices and innovative approaches in use on commercial demonstration farms. Additionally, PLAID develops ‘virtual’ (on-line) demonstration approaches with commercial farmers. These will highlight best practices that ensure the inclusion of a wide range of farm types, farmers and farm employees, ages and genders. PLAID will highlight innovative new approaches to demonstration; and derive indicators of best practice for different aims of demonstration activities.
PLAID undertakes these activities through its multi-actor consortium, using a multi-stakeholder approach to boost knowledge exchange and close the innovation gap.

Building an interactive Agridemo–Hub community enhancing farmer to farmer learning – AgriDemoF2F
The overall aim of AgriDemo-F2F is to enhance peer-to-peer learning within the commercial farming community. The project will utilize the experience of different actors and involve practitioner partners throughout the project to deepen understanding of effective on farm demonstration activities (multi-actor approach).
In a first step, the project conducts a geo-referenced inventory of open commercial farms that engage in demonstration activities in Europe, detailing the sectors, themes, and topics on which they provide expertise, and describe the mediation techniques they apply.
Case studies are selected to perform an in-depth comparative analysis. Important dimensions in the selection are: a wide-spread geographical coverage within Europe, representative for EU-agricultural sectors, systems, and territories and low tech versus high tech in mediation techniques.
Case studies will be described, analysed and compared on their network structure (actors, roles and governance characteristics), and the mechanisms and tools used for recruitment, interaction and learning. Furthermore, the effectiveness of the different approaches within the case-studies will be assessed through an evaluation of the extent and nature of learning.
Both regional and international multi-actor meetings will use the results of the cross-comparative case study analysis to identify a set of best practical approaches for both the on farm demonstration of research results (science driven) and the spreading of best farming practices among practitioners (innovation driven) and recommendations for AKIS governance and policies on how to support effective on farm demonstration activities. The empowerment of both the commercial farming and policy community to uptake these best practices will occur through structuring the project results and farm demo showcases on the AgriDemo-Hub, an interactive, user oriented, web-map application.

Under the RUR-11, these two projects PLAID and AgriDemoF2F are making an inventory of Demo-activities across Europe. Several NEFERTITI partners are involved in these projects and these inventories will be used in NEFERTITI project to connect Demo-activities on specific themes across Europe. NEFERTITI will build on PLAID project results concerning the key success factors for demonstrations in terms of learning by farmers, adoption of the demonstrated new techniques and improved networks and activities between stakeholders. The dissemination materials will be developed as complementary to the one developed under PLAID and AgriDemoF2F projects and video materials will spread through similar Medias. It will determine best practices recommendations on how to carry out effective demo-activities on-farm from PLAID and AgriDemoF2F and reinterpret them related to the needs of the NEFERTITI networks. The NEFERTITI project will use the communication targets (emails list, etc.) of PLAID and AgriDemoF2F to ensure continuity in communication related to EU demo-farms. Participation of some NEFERTITI partners in PLAID and AgriDemoF2F projects including both coordinators will ensure also efficient transfer and uptake of relevant outcomes that will improve NEFERTITI implementation.
Except with the above projects, NEFERTITI is related to the following projects:
